ARSE-O-theWeek: albeit a pretty one!

Pretty, but an arse by any other name, for not being able to "grow a pair" and stand up to this bully of a PM.

We're sorry, but unprecedented acts of Harper hubris calls for unprecedented acts of courage, on the part of everyone, especially on the part of Her Excellency. Proroguing was not her only constitutional option - it would have been nice if she had humbled Harper.

Once again, Your Excellency, we are sorry - we mean no offense.

  1. Best name for a blog I have seen yet. Got a real giggle. Kudos on the arse-o-the week too.

I think we should replace her with Sir Elton. A much better rep of the Queen. I would have suggested Freddie Mercury, if not for his untimely demise.

  2. Surely you jest Arseholes.
She was sin a no-win situation.
The winner of weekly honor should have gone to entire demonizing Conservative fear-mongering caucus.

Accusations of treason, etc., have no place in our parliament.

  3. Row: I cannot speak for Fat Arse - he's more eloquent - but I don't disagree that she was put in a difficult situation. The real question for me is: what was her decision based on? What criteria? If it was based on public opinion concerns, concerns of "national unity" or anything other than the specific question of the confidence of the House, than she made a terrible, precedent-setting error.

  4. Ok Rowell, maybe they could split the award in half. That would make each an ass half.Thats worse, cause they wouldn't even make it as ass wholes.

    Compliments of Robin Williams.

  5. I was disappointed, too (tho' she'd have been burned in effigy & there'd be a strong move to change the constitution & abolish the office if she'd ruled the other way; that blowhard Baird was already talking about going 'over her head' to the people.)

But given your names, & her looks, couldn't you at least live up to truth in advertising & _show_ us her arse, when highlighting it with this award?

  6. From the first Anon Re: the last Anon's comment.

To Two Ripping Arseholes; you seem to bring out the best in our fellow citizens. Being something of a connoisseur of that part of the female anatomy, now I'm curious.

All Arseholes must come together for the greater good of the High Order of Arseholedom.

  7. I think there's a need to hear her justification for why she prorogued.

It seems like a do-nothing decision was taken - perhaps in fear of becoming the next target of the Conservative media machine?

I'm starting to think the Conservatives have established a tool they can use to humiliate anyone with in spite of the truth.

The sad thing is: Lots of people seem to support it.

  8. *correct: Didn't prorogue. Sorry.

  9. @Omega: Yes, the GG should be required to explain the decision to prorogue or not prorogue. I'm not so sure people supported it as much as they didn't support a Dion-led coalition. However, I think everyone felt she was in a tough position...
